Dabo Swinney believes his squad is going to go undefeated. At first glance, the Tigers play in the ACC, which still doesn’t come close to the SEC and Big Ten.

So, Dabo’s right. In any case, if you’re a fan of old school college ball, before NIL deals made it impossible to keep your players, you have to love this Clemson squad. A single transfer will start. So every player on the team is a recruit. The defensive line is ridiculous; it’s again one of the best in the nation, and QB Cade Klubnik is for real. The odds make Clemson the best play on the board, even ahead of Texas.

Third Pick to Win the 2026 CFP National Championship: Georgia Bulldogs

Like Swinney, Kirby Smart doesn’t load up via the portal, which is why Georgia’s offense may not be as stellar as so many expect. Ah, but the Dawgs return three juniors and a senior on the offensive line. That’s enough to breathe a sigh of relief if you’re a UGA fan.

As far as the D is concerned, forget it. The Dawgs will lock down opposing offenses. The game versus Bama on September 27 should send the Dawgs into the top three on the AP Poll. They may not leave until the CFP, where they will be one of the favorites to win it all.

Dark Horse Pick to Win the 2026 CFP National Championship: Florida Gators

Florida doesn’t play Texas or Bama this season. So, if Florida can manage a single loss to either LSU or Georgia and find a way to upset one of those SEC powers, they could enter the CFP Season with one loss.

Billy Napier finally has his team. DJ Lagway gained valuable experience last season and should be stellar under center. If the D comes together, who knows? Maybe Napier’s squad goes on a run, matures at the right time, and blows out the top contenders to the tune of a +3500 payout.
