Another week in college football meant another crazy shake-up. Indiana toppled Oregon on the road, and the Penn State Nittany Lions, the second-ranked team in the nation to start the season, lost their third straight. This time, the Lions fell to Northwestern at home as an over-20 favorite. Alabama beat Mizzou, and USC dominated Michigan. Which games should be on your radar in College Football Week 8? LSU vs. Vanderbilt

When: Saturday, October 18th. 12:00 p.m. ET

This is a strange one because heading into the season, everybody talked about how great LSU’s offense was going to be with Garrett Nussmeier at quarterback. It’s Diego Pava and the Vandy Commodores who are scoring at will.

LSU has a single loss, mainly due to its elite defense. But this is a road game. The odds make Vandy a must-play to hand LSU their second loss.

Washington vs. Michigan

When: Saturday, October 18th. 12:00 p.m. ET

Michigan talked all week about how they were going to head to the Coliseum and hand USC a loss. The Trojans are soft was the message. USC didn’t get the memo because Lincoln Riley’s bunch spanked the Wolverines 31-13.

Michigan isn’t a great team. They’re okay, but much of the love they receive is due to name recognition. Quietly, the Washington Huskies have begun to assert themselves as a legit Top 25 team that can hang with most opponents in the Big Ten. Washington can win this straight up. So taking the points is a no-brainer move.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia

The odds are ridiculous. Georgia is a good team and should win this, but giving an Ole Miss squad that struggled at home against lousy Washington State 6.5 is a bad play.

The Rebels will bounce back with a top effort. Ole Miss was thinking of the Dawgs in Saturday’s almost loss to WASU, which is why they played so poorly. Lane Kiffin won’t allow his team to overlook Georgia, and the Rebel players wouldn’t anyhow. UGA is getting by with some smoke, a few mirrors, and the genius of Kirby Smart. Miss covers.

Texas Tech vs. Arizona State

When: Saturday, October 18th. 4:00 p.m. ET

Texas Tech is one of the best teams in the country. It’s undeniable. The Red Raiders invested heavily in talented and experienced players, and with each game, their talents come together more effectively.

Arizona State is in big trouble in this. Even if Sam Leavitt plays, the Sun Devils are in for a whipping. The Red Raiders don’t care if they play ASU on the road. A serious beatdown is in the cards.

Tennessee vs. Alabama

Alabama is as good as it gets, and they own the Tennessee Volunteers, but Tennessee is much better than what they showed against Arkansas. Like Ole Miss versus Washington State, the Vols were looking past the Hogs in the too-close-for-comfort victory.

Tennessee is desperate to beat Bama, and the Tide are due for a letdown after playing so well against Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Missouri. Ty Simpson will rally Bama for a straight-up victory, but this one is going to be close.

USC vs. Notre Dame

USC versus Notre Dame is one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports, and for some reason, the Irish are giving a rising Trojans squad 8.5 points. I’m not the only college football handicapper who sees how ridiculous the Trojans’ overlay is in this.

USC comes off a game where they spanked a supposedly quality team in the Michigan Wolverines. The Trojans should handle Notre Dame, meaning USC can win this straight up. Grab the 8.5 before more pros jump on the line.
