San Jose State vs. Texas
- When: Sunday, August 31st. 12:00 p.m. ET

Everybody is going hard on Arch Manning because he flubbed in Columbus versus the defending national champs. The truth is that Texas’s offensive line may not gel until around Week 4, which means the Longhorns won’t touch 50 points in this.
San Jose State may not score a single point against one of the country’s top defenses. Under is the play.

Baylor vs. SMU
- When: Saturday, September 6th. 5:30 p.m. ET

Baylor fell 38-24 to Auburn in their first game of the season, but that was against a Hugh Freeze-coached offense. Freeze is one of the top strategists on the offensive side of the ball in college football.
SMU is a quality program. Still, the Stangs allowed Eastern Texas A&M to drop 13 points and ran back two interceptions for touchdowns on their way to 42 points. Beating Baylor by five won’t be easy.

Oklahoma State vs. Oregon

This is going to be bad if you’re a Pokes fan. Sure, Oklahoma State won its first game of the season. However, quarterback Hauss Hejney is out after having surgery on his foot.
So the Pokes are down to their second-string quarterback and take on a fired-up Oregon squad in Autzen. The Cowboys go down by 30.

South Florida vs. Florida
- When: Saturday, September 6th. 4:15 p.m. ET

South Florida’s 34-7 victory over Boise State was legit. The Bulls have a good defense, one that will challenge Florida’s offensive line.
Florida should win this, but the spread is way too high. We can’t afford to give up that many points against a Florida squad that’s facing a legitimate AAC contender. South Florida also sees this as a rivalry game. So they will play with a chip on their shoulder.

Boston College vs. Michigan State

The top moneyline play of the week features a Sparty squad that managed just 23 points and conceded 6, facing off against Western Michigan, an MAAC team, and an ACC squad led by quarterback Dylan Lonergan, who is coming off a career performance.
Yes, Michigan State is better than Fordham, the team BC dropped 66 onto. But Lonergan is for real. So the Eagles will move the football. It’s hard to tell if MSU moves the ball.

Michigan vs. Oklahoma

How good is former Washington State quarterback John Mateer? The man dominated Illinois State. This is a step up for sure, but Michigan on the road will have trouble versus Mateer and the Oklahoma offense.
On the other side, the Sooners’ D is finally playing Brett Venables’ ball. Oklahoma should win by six or more points.

UL Monroe vs. Alabama
- When: Saturday, September 6th. 7:45 p.m. ET

Bama’s defense was atrocious versus Florida State. The offense wasn’t much better. There is nothing positive to say about Bama.
A loss shouldn’t happen, but UL Monroe will play with fire while Bama has zero fire or heart. Ty Simpson averaged less than 6 yards per completion versus FSU, and the rushing attack averaged a sad 3 yards per carry. The Bama program is in disarray. Don’t be surprised if UL Monroe makes this desperately close.
